Governance
Guided by Purpose. Grounded in Accountability.
Our commitment to conservation carries a responsibility to act with integrity, use resources thoughtfully, and remain accountable to the people who place their trust in us.
HydWild Foundation is a Hyderabad-based, not-for-profit Section 8 company. Our purpose brings together conservation awareness, urban rewilding, and support for conservation organisations and initiatives.
As we develop our programmes and partnerships, we are committed to building an institution whose decisions, relationships, and use of resources remain aligned with this purpose.
Leadership & Oversight
Â
Good governance begins with clarity about who makes decisions and who is accountable for them.
Â
Our Board of Directors has responsibility for guiding the Foundation’s direction and overseeing its affairs. As HydWild grows, we aim to establish clear responsibilities for programme delivery, financial management, partnerships, and organisational conduct.
Â
We seek to bring relevant ecological, scientific, creative, and community perspectives into the decisions that shape our work.
Our Governance Commitments
Â
Purpose-Led Decisions
Â
Our activities and partnerships should advance HydWild’s conservation purpose. We will consider their ecological relevance, public value, feasibility, and potential impact before committing resources or associating our name with them.
Â
Responsible Stewardship
Â
Funds, expertise, time, and other resources entrusted to HydWild should be used with care. Our commitment is to maintain appropriate financial records, exercise proportionate oversight of expenditure, and respect the purposes for which support is provided.
Â
Integrity & Independence
Â
We aim to build relationships that strengthen our mission and preserve our ability to exercise independent judgement. Personal, professional, or financial interests that could influence a decision should be disclosed and managed appropriately.
Â
Evidence & Ecological Responsibility
Â
Our conservation and rewilding work should be informed by relevant expertise, local conditions, and the needs of native biodiversity. We will seek to understand potential consequences, learn from experience, and adapt our approach as evidence develops.
Â
Respect & Inclusion
Â
We value the knowledge and contributions of conservation practitioners, local communities, researchers, filmmakers, volunteers, and supporters. Our programmes should encourage respectful participation and recognise the rights, dignity, and contributions of those involved.
Â
Transparency & Learning
Â
We intend to communicate honestly about our plans, activities, and results. This includes distinguishing ambitions from completed work, acknowledging challenges, and sharing what we learn.
